How to Sell Second Hand Stairlifts

Tips from past sellers

Want to buy new stairlifts? Worried that your old stairlift will have no buyer? Well, the funny thing is that there is a huge market out there looking for good second hand stairlifts. There are many people who cannot afford to buy new stairlifts or do not want to invest much money on new lifts for some reason. All such people keep looking for really good stair lifts that they can install in their residences but they cannot find any because folks do not know how to sell their old stair lifts.

1. Market Research Nothing begins without a good market research. The second hand stairlifts market is the same. Look for the most popular places where people come to buy and sell used things - Craigslist can be a great place to begin your fact finding.

Look for descriptions, what are people looking to buy, what are others selling, most importantly how are they selling it. Everybody has an advantage and you have one to, the question is how long you need to find that. It might be a bunch of sensor that did something special. You can share your story and if you do it well enough, you should have all the eyeballs you need.

Seller's Tip Everyday people are discovering great new ways to sell their second hand stairlifts, so if your imagination fails you, do not despair, just head over to Gumtree, Craigslist, eBay or Amazon and see how second hand things are sold.

2. Showcasing the Best in Your Stairlifts To sell something, you will have to highlight the best in it. Here are a few things that you should not skip no matter what:

- Warranty/Guarantee Nobody wants to buy a very old stairlift and spend boatloads in repair the sucker! New customers will be wary of such things in the stairlift offered by you. So, if it is older than years, chances are that you will find no takers for it, unless you have a very handsome guarantee/warrantee to back it up. This will at least put buyer's anxiety at rest about spending way too much on repairs.

- Specialities Modern Stairlifts use computer chips for advanced jobs such as sensing objects in the path of the stairlift. Someone looking for a second hand stair lift will appreciate if you highlight the perfect working condition of the sensors.

- Images

Humans are visual creatures and depend a lot on visual cues to make their decisions. Most of their decisions are based on thing they see rather than on what they don't see! Your stairlift can be 5 years old and yet have several buyers lining up for it if you have some really good images to show off.

Seller's Tip Get the neighborhood kid to come over and help you with images of the stair lifts from all possible angles. Forget not to capture some flattering angles with you on the lift. You might also want to photograph the sensors, controls and safety features to make your old stairlift all the more appealing.

3. Pitching It Have you heard of the phrase 'hitting the nail hard'? Well, in selling second hand stair lifts, your sales pitch is the hammer that will drive the nail hard. Prepare a very classy, outstanding description that is simple yet very powerful and totally free of marketing language or technical jargon.

Seller's Tip Try to connect to the need in your potential buyer and highlight the best things about your product, but never forget to subtly put in any faults that they might eventually discover!

You must also know that these are not the only three things that will get your second hand stairlifts sold in California. You might have to do some more research on the topic and find out better ways to do so.
